Update August 2002. I have finally broke down and gotten my own domain which should be up and running anytime now and banner and popup free. Catch me at:
Who is the Wine Slob?
Well, I am 43 years old and I have been drinking wine for over 20 years. I don't have any degrees in wine tasting only past experience. My father is one of the founding members of The Brotherhood of the Knights of the Vine, so wine has always been a part of our family life. I have been lucky enough to attend some wonderful wine tasting events over the years and have also gone wine tasting many times in the California wine regions.
I firmly believe in inexpensive good wine. I am also not afraid to call crap, crap! I have no affiliations with any wine group, winery, etc...
My mission is to taste wines, usually with a meal and tell you what I think, no holds barred. While it's nice to enjoy the expensive wines, I am doing reviews on everyday drinking wines that are easy to find at a local store. When possible, I will list the price I paid for the wine and where I got it.
From time to time I may also make notes of what my wife or others thought of the same wine and give you their opinions as well. If we have a more expensive wine, I may list it as well, but I will note the price of the wine. I also plan to review the wines on the 20 point wine rating scale with my own notes and comments added.
Feel free to use the search engine to search for reviews for 2000 and 2001

TODAY'S TIP: FAVORITE WINE LINKS--THE WINE SLOB'S WINE REVIEWS
Michael Patterson
calls himself "The Wine Slob," but don't expect to
see a drooling
ape with a wine glass here: This is his joking way of
letting the world
know that he's anything but a Wine SNOB.
Says Patterson:
"My mission is to taste wines daily, usually with a
meal and tell
you what I think, no holds barred. While it's nice to
enjoy the expensive
wines, I am doing reviews on everyday drinking
wines that are
easy to find at a local store."
His site is simple,
direct, and obviously a labor of love. Check out
